This place is so familiar
The agony extraordinary
Burnt into the fringe of my memory
Amazingly it hasn’t changed
The look, the feel, the smell doesn’t change
This place doesn’t change
Nothing changes

Two years ago you knew me
Then the rift occurred
A splinter in creativity
Blood splattered and desecrated
Left tattered and listing slowly
Pieces dripping into your eye
Held above you
Labouringly forced upon you
I showed you pain
And you did not blink

One year ago I killed myself with pills
The husk of me continued
Feeding you flesh and sex
I wanted you to save me
And you let me rot

I woke up a week ago
In a shell
I cut myself to ribbons, killing what I’d become
I tied them end to end and made myself whole
With the pieces that remained…
For you I made a present
